GWI increases now underway: details and eligibility

GWI's are now being implemented for UBC faculty and staff

The 2024 General Wage Increases (GWI) of 3% for staff groups are starting to be implemented, and will continue throughout the year based on the effective date of each employee group.  Please note that newly hired staff also receive GWIs, as long as they’re active at the GWI implementation date for that employee group.   As a reminder, please continue to use the current 2023 staff salary scales until the GWI has been implemented for the specific staff group. If you must use the anticipated 2024 salary scales, please contact the Compensation team.

The 2024 GWI for Faculty bargaining unit members and for Research Associates is confirmed to be 3%. These increases will be processed for July 1, 2024.  Faculty bargaining unit members are eligible for the 2024 GWI if they are a continuing member of the Bargaining unit as of July 1, 2024 (i.e., active on both June 30, 2024 and July 1, 2024).  Research Associates are eligible for the 2024 GWI if they are active at the GWI implementation date.
