The Career Navigation & Transition Consultant offers stimulus to your UBC career experience by supporting you to discover and design your unique opportunities for growth.

You can expect a three-part service over a six-month period to:

1. Examine your possibilities
2. Evolve a unique plan
3. Evaluate the implementation and revise your efforts


Coaching@UBC is a free, 1-on-1 professional coaching service for staff and faculty. Coaching provides an opportunity to focus and move forward on your career goals through the exploration of ideas and candid dialogue with a confidential and unbiased thinking partner.

Choose to work with either an internal or associate (external) coach, typically over six individual sessions/three months. Professional coaches who focus on career exploration and planning are available through Coaching@UBC.


UBC staff and faculty have access to a wide variety of professional development courses.

Professional development workshops are available at Vancouver and the Okanagan.

Staff and faculty have access to professional development funding to take part in events and activities that will help you move to the next stage with your career.

With tuition waivers, you can take credit courses (staff and faculty) or non-credit courses through Extended Learning (staff ).
