ARC & BirdCoop Fitness Centres

The ARC & BirdCoop Fitness Centres offer over 15,000 sq. ft. of combined workout space. The two facilities are equipped with day lockers, showers, and change facilities so that you can schedule workouts around your workday. The two facilities can be accessed through a single discounted membership for staff and faculty. Memberships also include access to spin and group fitness classes.

Additionally, there are also regularly scheduled boot camps, yoga and Pilates, martial arts, and dance programs offered at discounted rates for UBC staff & faculty. Choose from a variety of locations including offerings at Ponderosa Commons.

Beaty Biodiversity Museum

Explore UBC’s spectacular biological collections through exhibits and programs. Chan Centre for the Performing Arts

David F. Hardwick and Pathology Learning Centre

Located on the second floor of the Diamond Health Care Centre in Vancouver, the UBC David F. Hardwick Pathology Learning Centre (DHPLC) is a unique educational resource for learning about the causes and mechanisms of human disease, and for studying clinicopathologic correlations. Morris and Helen Belkin Art Gallery

Since 1995, the Morris and Helen Belkin Art Gallery has developed a program of collecting significant works by Canadian and international artists and mounts four exhibitions each year together with associated programs and events. Admission is always free.

The Pacific Museum of Earth

Across the street from the Beaty Biodiversity Museum, the Pacific Museum of the Earth displays rocks, minerals, fossils, Canada’s only OmniGlobe, and exhibits relating to ocean and atmospheric sciences. Also on display are the skeletons of a Lambeosaur and Elasmosaur – over 80 million years old! Admission to the museum is by donation. UBC Aquatic Centre

The UBC Aquatic Centre offers UBC staff and faculty discounts for drop-in passes, memberships, locker rentals, adult lessons, a selection of advanced courses and fitness classes. UBC BodyWorks Fitness Centre

BodyWorks is an adult-oriented fitness centre using evidence-based practice at UBC Point Grey. Their unique philosophy combines principles of athletic training and clinical exercise programming. Designed and run by the School of Kinesiology, UBC staff and faculty and the public enjoy a non-competitive, supportive community promoting health for every body and ability. They offer a variety of fitness classes, including Community Fit, a quick class offered at lunch time and in the evening which is designed for busy adults focused on building posture, back strength, and functional conditioning. Free services to members include monthly health and physical inactivity screenings, health/fitness workshops, and daily access to personal trainers. UBC BodyWorks Fitness Centre offers personal training for as low as $37/session and memberships from as low as $35/month plus a 10% discount on annual Basic Memberships for UBC staff and faculty. While UBC IT does not provide cell phones or offer support for them, there are two cell phone vendors providing corporate plans to UBC.

BC Wireless is UBC’s Authorized Hardware Dealer for Rogers Communications, with 14 locations throughout Vancouver and the Lower Mainland. UBC Museum of Anthropology

Experience one of the world’s finest displays of art from Northwest Coast First Nations at the Museum of Anthropology at UBC. UBC School of Music

At the UBC School of Music you can take in intimate solo recitals, chamber music, fully-staged operas, symphony orchestra, band and choir concerts, plus a myriad of small ensemble performances by student performers including jazz bands, Renaissance and contemporary music, Indonesian gamelan; and Korean drumming groups. In addition, there is the eclectic Wednesday Noon Hour series, Music on the Point concerts, plus other special events featuring faculty, local and visiting guest artists.

UBC Student Recreation Centre Drop-in Sports

The UBC Student Recreation Centre is home to three gym courts and has regular offerings of drop-in sports that are free to staff and faculty with a valid UBC Card. Choose from basketball, volleyball, badminton, and futsal (indoor soccer) which are all available on a weekly schedule.

UBC Tennis Centre

The UBC Tennis Centre is Vancouver’s only public indoor facility and has 12 indoor courts and one outdoor court. A new facility houses eight of these indoor courts with the outdoor court just west of this building. They also have four courts inside the UBC Tennis Bubble, which offer another great playing option. You can book a court for play or register in one of their programs available for all ages, levels and abilities. UBC Staff and Faculty are eligible for discounts on adult and youth programs, as well as some designated staff-only programs. UBC Students are also eligible for discounts on programs, have designated student-only programs, and discounted court rentals during applicable times. UBC Theatre

University Golf Club

UBC staff and faculty can enjoy discounted rates on golf as well as power cart and club rentals before 9:00 a.m. Monday-Friday at the University Golf Club. Present your UBCCard and also receive a 5% discount at the driving range.

Many businesses and service providers in the Lower Mainland offer discounted rates to UBC staff and faculty. All you need to take advantage of this is your valid UBC Faculty/Staff card. Although UBC does not have a unique corporate discounted rate, the City of Burnaby’s B Active Pass is extremely competitively priced. Enjoy unlimited access to more than 70 fitness classes per week at five locations, 65 Aquafit classes per week at four indoor pools, 20 indoor cycling classes per week, public swimming in four indoor pools, four outdoor pools during the summer months; and much more. CrossFit North Vancouver

CrossFit North Vancouver would like to extend a discount to staff and faculty at UBC to help them get started and maintain a healthy lifestyle. CrossFit West10

CrossFit West10 (located at 3754 West 10 Ave.) offers UBC staff and faculty $100 off their CrossFit 101 and 15% off our membership. Vancouver Board of Parks and Recreation

UBC staff and faculty are entitled to a 25% discount on regular-priced adult Park Board Flexipasses. The Park Board Flexipass is valid at all city-run swimming pools, ice rinks and 21 participating Park Board and Association fitness centres. UBC has a corporate pass at the Robert Lee YMCA, which gives a 10% discount to Adult members (ages 36-64) and Plus members (includes additional services, such as towel service, private steamroom and whirlpool). YVR Parking – Vancouver Airport
