UBC’s designated relocation and moving vendor and its partners are doing their best to ensure that the relocations go smoothly. With all of the complexity of moving, there are times when items go missing or get broken in transit.
For moves within Canada, you have 60 days from the date of delivery to file a written claim.
For moves between the United States and Canada, you have 9 months from the date of delivery to submit a written claim.
For moves Internationally, you have 30 days from the date of delivery to submit a written claim.
The following outlines the process for filing a claim for domestic moves within Canada, cross-border moves from the U.S.A. and International moves:
1) Please contact your Quality Move Management Relocation Coordinator to initiate a claim.
2) Fill out the claims form and return to the Claims Manager.
You have 60 days from the date of delivery to file a written claim.
The following outlines the process for filing a claim with United Van Lines (Armstrong’s partner for domestic moves within Canada and the U.S.A., excluding Hawaii):
1) To file a claim, please go to the United Van Lines website.
2) Select the link to Online Forms.
3) Select the English or French version of the Claims Form.
4) Fill out the Claim Form as instructed. The Order Number is the File Number located on the final invoice. Member Number (#873 for Armstrong), Sequence Number and Year (last 2 digits).

5) Contact Rod Speers of Armstrong to inform him of your claim. United Van Lines is a very large company and their claims representative may not be aware of Armstrong’s special arrangement with UBC. Notifying Armstrong of the claim will ensure that Armstrong can help with the claims process and help follow up with their partner to resolve issues.
The following outlines the process for filing a claim with Armstrong for international moves (including Hawaii):
1) Please send an email to your Armstrong Coordinator and copy Rod Speers of Armstrong to initiate a claim.
2) Fill out the International Claims form and return to your Relocation Coordinator.
