INFORMATION FOR NEW HIRES
During your first few days on campus, your HR manager will remind you to enroll for your benefits, complete payroll forms, and provide a department orientation. Here are a few essential things that should be completed within your first week of employment:
Quick Start Orientation
Our Quick Start Orientation is a self-service orientation that enables new hires to access information with a few mouse clicks from their office desktop – either in their new office or anywhere in the world. Your generated results will be delivered to you in a web browser format and to your specified email address. You’ll be able to find out how to get to campus by car or bus, where to eat on campus, where your office building and nearest parking lot is, a list of employee perks, and more!
Benefits Sign-up
All new faculty and staff hires can enroll for their payroll, benefits, and pension package through our Benefits Sign-up. Be sure to review the checklist of items you'll need before beginning this process.
PAYROLL
Inquiries about payroll can be directed to Financial Services. Note that as of June 2007, direct deposit is mandatory for all new employees.
Register for your Campus-Wide Login (CWL) ID
Campus-Wide Login(CWL) is UBC’s single sign-on authentication system. It is designed to give you access to UBC’s online applications with the same username and password. A CWL account currently provides you with access to the Faculty and Staff Self-Service Web Application, Student Information System, the Library, myUBC, and Web CT.
Faculty and Staff Self-Service Web Application
View and update your personal and payroll information with our Faculty and Staff Self-Service Web Application. By logging in with your CWL ID, you'll be able to update your personal information, view your paycheques and beneficiary information, use our myPension feature, and more.
