Subject: M&P Compensation Review – Pay Grade and Salary Administration, Effective January 1, 2014
This provides an update on the M&P Compensation Review implementation, and is further to our memo of Dec. 16, 2013 (http://www.hr.ubc.ca/memos/implementation-of-the-mp-compensation-review-dec-16-2013/).
We are targeting February 28, 2014, for implementation of changes resulting from the M&P Compensation Review. This includes salary grade changes, salary adjustments, and retro payments (back to January 1, 2014), where applicable. Note that this is a target date only, and we will keep you apprised of the actual date of implementation.
The spreadsheet that you will receive for your faculty/department lists the M&P staff in your faculty/department whose salary grades and/or salary will change as a result of this round of the Compensation Review. In addition, a list of definitions will be provided to assist you in interpreting information from the spreadsheet.
If changes/corrections to your spreadsheet are required, please notify Joyce Wei (firstname.lastname@example.org) by Feb. 7, 2014 at the latest.
Those staff members whose salary will be adjusted as a result of the change in salary grade will receive a memo from HR. M&P staff members whose salary will not be impacted even though there is a change in salary grade will not receive a memo. The target date for these memos is Feb. 21, 2014.
Additional information about the M&P Compensation Review is available on the Human Resources website at http://www.hr.ubc.ca/compensation/mp-compensation-review/. This includes background information and FAQs for staff members and Administrators.
At UBC Vancouver, central will provide funding to cover the market adjustments in Administrative units, Library, Graduate and post-Doctoral Studies in Operating funds (excluding Ancillary). Funding will be allocated to the impacted unit once HR and Payroll compete the adjustments in HRMS.
