This provides an update on the M&P Compensation Review implementation, and is further to our memo of January 23, 2013 (http://www.hr.ubc.ca/memos/management-professional-compensation-review-jan-23-2013/).

We are targeting April 15, 2013, for implementation of changes resulting from the M&P Compensation Review. This includes salary grade changes, salary adjustments, and retro payments (back to Jan. 1, 2013), where applicable. Note that there is a possibility that this may be delayed due to other collective agreement implementations that are also occurring at this time.

Attached is a spreadsheet that lists the M&P staff in your faculty/department whose salary grades and/or salary will change as a result of the Compensation Review. Also attached is a list of definitions that will assist you in interpreting information from the spreadsheet.

If changes/corrections to your spreadsheet are required, please notify Stuart Murray (smurray@hr.ubc.ca, 604-822-2481) by Tuesday, April 2, 2013, at the latest.

HR will be sending individual memos to M&P staff members whose salary grade and/or salary are affected by the Compensation Review. The target date for these memos is April 26. M&P staff members whose salary grade and salary will not be impacted will not receive a memo.

Queries may be directed as follows:

  • Queries about changes to your faculty/department spreadsheet, on or before April 2, may be directed to Stuart Murray (smurray@hr.ubc.ca or 604-822-2481). Queries up to April 15 may be directed to Kathleen Cheng (kathleen.cheng@ubc.ca or 604-822-8148).
  • Staff questions, as well as Administrators’ questions aside from those outlined above, may be directed to compensation@hr.ubc.ca. An HR representative will respond on a priority basis.
  • Inquiries pertaining to Operating funds (G, F, C) may be directed to Trang Nguyen in the Budget Office at trang.nguyen@ubc.ca.
