Subject: Changes to Minimum Wage in British Columbia Effective September 15, 2015
The Government of British Columbia will be increasing the provincial minimum wage, effective September 15, 2015.
The new minimum wages are highlighted in the table below:

In reviewing our employee database, it was identified that a small number of student and staff employees are currently being paid at the $10.25/hour rate. As of September 15, Payroll will automatically raise the rate of those employees to the new minimum wage rate of $10.45/hour.
If your faculty or department has salaried students, please ensure that the salary they receive is at least equivalent to the minimum wage for the number of hours they work.
Moving forward, please ensure that all appointment forms are reflective of the new BC minimum wage.
