Program Objectives

By participating in the program participants will:

  • SUPPORT – be supported in their job
  • VALUED – feel valued and supported in working towards their full potential
  • EXPECTATION AND OBLIGATIONS – be able to articulate expectations and obligations for the management role within the culture envisioned by Focus on People: Workplace Practices at UBC
  • ROLE UNDERSTANDING – have a broadened understanding of the role of managing people at UBC along with the resources available to fulfill that role
  • SELF-DIRECTED – be expected and encouraged to identify and work towards their own developmental goals
  • RESOURCES – be introduced to key resource people at the University and feel part of an expanded network
