Program Objectives
By participating in the program participants will:
- SUPPORT – be supported through their first year in the job
- VALUED – feel valued and supported in working towards their full potential
- EXPECTATION AND OBLIGATIONS – be able to articulate expectations and obligations for the management role within the culture envisioned by Focus on People: Workplace Practices at UBC
- ROLE UNDERSTANDING – have a broadened understanding of the role of managing people at UBC along with the resources available to fulfill that role
- SELF-DIRECTED – be expected and encouraged to identify and work towards their own developmental goals
- RESOURCES – be introduced to key resource people at the University and feel part of an expanded network
