This summer, UBC is hosting Congress, June 1-7, at the Vancouver campus. Jointly organized by the Federation for the Humanities and Social Sciences and UBC, the Congress of the Humanities and Social Sciences is the largest interdisciplinary conference in Canada and one of the largest in the world. The annual event brings together over 70 academic associations and over 10,000 attendees, which represent a spectrum of disciplines in the humanities and social sciences.
These guidelines come as UBC prepares to host Congress 2019 this June. A call for volunteers went out in yesterday’s UBC Today newsletter, so you may start to see these requests coming in from your staff.
If you have any questions on these guidelines, or regarding specific requests from staff, please contact your HR Advisor.
Are you interested in community service learning? The Community Leadership Program is a professional development opportunity for UBC staff to mentor and lead a group of UBC undergraduate students through a three-day community-service learning project in a school or non-profit organization during the UBC Reading Week break in February, 2015.
The application deadline is Sept. 5, 2014. For full information on the program, please visit the CLP website at http://clp.ubc.ca.
