Every year, almost 800 of UBC staff and faculty donate to the UBC United Way campaign. Starting on Monday, Oct. 7, you can support the university’s only board-approved charity by becoming a UBC United Way donor. This year’s campaign goal is to inspire 1,000 people in the UBC community to pledge a donation.
In addition to donating via payroll deduction, there are a number of events in which you can participate over the next few weeks:
Take part in A Week of Caring Oct. 15 – 18, which features community-building events to raise awareness of how the United Way serves the needs of our local communities to help support kids, families and seniors:
Volunteer in this year’s campaign and become a Campaign Champion. By volunteering your time and talent to support the UBC United Way campaign, you’ll play a key role in the campaign’s fundraising efforts and create lasting, positive experiences for our campus community and beyond.
UBC Wellbeing and Human Resources Health Wellbeing & Benefits are making $5,000 available to support workplace events and initiatives that advance the work of the United Way and help engage the UBC community in the UBC United Way campaign. Got an idea for a fundraiser? Apply for a UBC United Way Champions Fund and you could receive $300 towards an event or initiative that raises funds for the UBC United Way Campaign while advancing the mission of the United Way of the Lower Mainland.
