Please share this with your staff , especially those in the CUPE 2950, Executive Administrative, and BCGEU Okanagan employment groups
UBC is committed to supporting staff development, in part through providing professional development funding for employees.
In addition to tuition waivers (which can be used for UBC academic courses or UBC Continuing Studies courses), centrally administered funding is available to support the professional development needs of staff in many UBC employment groups.
Lynda.com: A learning resource available for UBC administrative staff
All UBC staff members in the CUPE 2950, Executive Administrative, and BCGEU Okanagan employment groups have FREE access to lynda.com, an online subscription library that teaches the latest software tools and skills through high-quality instructional videos taught by industry experts.
Lynda.com offers more than 1,700 training videos on a broad range of subjects, including MS Office, business skills, e-learning, video, social media, and web design. New courses are added every week.
Access to the lynda.com library is available 24/7 from any work or home computer, even mobile devices. Downloadable exercise files are included.
Most eligible staff automatically received a Lynda.com registration email in April, 2013. The registration email included a personalized link to the Lynda.com UBC registration account set-up page.
If you have a CUPE 2950, Exec Admin or BCGEU Okanagan staff member who did not receive the email, or has joined your department since April, please have them contact Stephanie Thorpe (firstname.lastname@example.org) to set up their account.
