UBC Library changing EZproxy validation for staff and faculty
UBC Library provides off-campus access to its licensed electronic journals, books and databases through the EZproxy server. The Library has recently made changes to how EZproxy validates students, staff and faculty users to adhere to current licensing agreements.
As of May 14, EZproxy requires that staff and faculty have an active appointment in HRMS to access electronic resources. UBC Emeriti and retired UBC faculty must have an appointment in HRMS that reflects their emeriti or retired status to continue to access e-resources. Retired staff will no longer be able to access e-resources, but can continue to use the Library to borrow physical materials.
UBC Library frontline staff who encounter situations where staff or faculty cannot access e-resources due to the EZproxy validation will tell them to contact the HR administrators in their department. You may be contacted by staff or faculty in your unit regarding their HRMS appointment status.
