Collective bargaining updates at UBC in 2019

UBC has over 16,000 faculty and staff employees and over 9,000 student employees. The majority of our employees are represented by six staff unions, one staff association (AAPS), and the faculty union (the Faculty Association). UBC’s eight labour agreements, as well as the Agreement on the Conditions and Terms of Employment with AAPS, are set to expire in 2019.

As UBC begins the process of negotiations with its unions and AAPS, HR will be sharing updates on the collective bargaining website (http://www.hr.ubc.ca/collective-bargaining/). Our first update for this round of bargaining is now available, with a summary of the bargaining mandate, information about upcoming negotiation dates, and an overview of UBC’s unions and AAPS.
