National Employee Appreciation Day and Recognition at UBC

Friday is National Employee Appreciation Day.  There are a lot of ways for everyone to bring recognition to the workplace every day.

Since January, we have been highlighting a number of ways in which departments at UBC focus on recognition. Recognition can come from managers and supervisors, and equally important is recognition between co-workers as well as recognition of managers and supervisors by members of their teams.

Only about 50% of staff and faculty who participated in the 2014 WES say they receive recognition for their accomplishments at work.

From now until March, we will be sharing ideas and resources for recognizing colleagues in the workplace at http://focusonpeople.ubc.ca/workplace-experiences-survey/workplace-conversations-recognition.

Visit our blog for bi-weekly highlight videos from our curated Lynda.com playlist, and learn about recognition initiatives at UBC.
