New Online Assessment Tool: Ergo Your Office Today!
The new Ergo Your Office Online Guide gives you the power to ensure your workstation is set-up safely and properly. This brand new tool features step-by-step instructions designed to empower staff and faculty to make workstation adjustments that will benefit their health and safety while at work.
As an employer, UBC has a responsibility to reduce the risk of musculoskeletal injuries in the workplace. As such, it is imperative that all staff and faculty who are working in office environments have the opportunity to learn about the inherent risks associated with computer work and are offered the tools they need to reduce or eliminate those risks.
Who Should Use This Guide?
Everyone working at a computer workstation for more than two hours each workday should take the online assessment. Don’t wait for painful symptoms to develop.
If you are in a supervisory position, encourage all your staff to use the online guide. This is particularly important for new employees as part of their safety orientation.
Department Office Ergo Reps
UBC trains department office ergo reps to assist colleagues with correctly adjusting office equipment. If your department doesn’t have a rep, we offer free training every second month. This is a great professional development opportunity for volunteers who have an interest in health and safety. Please promote this opportunity within your unit. Learn more and register here.
