HR Studio: How to Hold Difficult Conversations (April 16, 2013)

By Breeonne Baxter on March 21, 2013

For HR Administrators

In 2013, we are bringing you a revamped version of our HR Roundtables: the HR Network Studios, a half-day session focusing on topic of interest to the HR community of practice at UBC. Everyone who works on Human Resource issues at the University is invited to take part in the HR Network Studios.

The April HR Studio will be on How to Hold Difficult Conversations:

Date: Tuesday, April 16, 2013
Time: 9:00 a.m. – 12: 00 p.m.
Location: Michael Smith Labs, Room 101 [map]
RSVP: communications@hr.ubc.ca by April 9, 2013. Space is limited to 36 participants so please RSVP early.

Summary:

What makes some conversations difficult while other ones seem so easy?  How do you have those hard to have conversations in the workplace that you have been avoiding?  Join us for an interactive session where you will be exposed to some different theories related to holding difficult conversations and spend time applying what you learn to your current work environment.

Please come to the session prepared to talk about a difficult conversation you have had in the past or are planning to have.

Light refreshments will be provided.

If you have any questions, email communications@hr.ubc.ca.
