For those looking for a seniors living residence closer to campus, Tapestry Seniors Living is located on UBC’s south campus. It is an independent retirement residence. Tapestry at Wesbrook Village also offers choices in dining, health and wellness, fitness, housekeeping, activities, and travel. Tapestry also provides a complete range of assisted living services should you require them.
Shepell, UBC’s Employee and Family Assistance Program (EFAP) for staff and faculty is a confidential counselling service that can help you or your family members with any personal problem, big or small, that affects your family life, your work life or your general well-being. EFAP is self-referred, so no one need know that you are seeking help. Shepell is able to help you find adult day care services and in home care for seniors in your family.
There is no pre-set limit to the number of counselling or work/life consultations employees can access, however in cases where the counsellor determines an individual’s difficulties may be of a long-standing or chronic nature, referrals to external providers will be provided.
