Back by popular demand, the UBC Travelling Health Fair offers heart health assessments for staff and faculty this year.
The bad news: The fair is fully booked with waitlist in effect.
The good news: There are two ways you can still sign up to receive a screening!
1. From February 26-March 9, the UBC Pharmacists Clinic will offer the same heart health assessment for those who didn’t have a chance to sign up for the fair. To book your free, personalized and confidential heart health screening, call the UBC Pharmacists Clinic at 604-827-2584 and request the Travelling Health Fair assessment.
2. If you prefer to try an online health screening, visit our Virtual Health Fair. With over 20 different screenings, tools and resources, you can assess your current health status from the comfort of your home or office. Learn how to make improvements towards a healthier self or print your results to share with your healthcare professional.

2014 has been a busy year so far for our Health and Wellbeing team. We have been lucky enough to collaborate on a number of important and meaningful initiatives with some terrific groups across campus. The feedback and results have truly been amazing. Take a look at what we have been up to since January:
Staff and Faculty Sports Day: May 2, 2014
On Friday May 2nd, UBC Recreation and Human Resources teamed up for the 4th annual Staff and Faculty Sports Day. The event was a huge success with close to 500 participants on 90 teams.
This year’s highlights included creative costumes, healthy departmental rivalries and delicious food and beverages, sponsored by UBC Food Services.
Staff and Faculty Health Challenge: March 31-April 25, 2014
This year’s Health Challenge was a huge success, with 164 teams and 584 total participants from UBC’s Vancouver and Okanagan campuses! Prizes were awarded weekly for participation, for sharing success stories and to our top overall team and top overall individual.
Travelling Health Fair: Feb. 19-28, 2014
In 2014, 228 staff and faculty participated in Heart Health Screenings at the Travelling Health Fair, in partnership with the UBC Pharmacists Clinic. Participants were provided with blood pressure screenings, cholesterol checks, body mass index calculations and a heart disease risk score. Pharmacists and pharmacy students were on hand to screen and consult with participants.
