February 2015 was an extremely busy month for us at Healthy UBC. In particular we welcomed, and spread the healthy UBC message, to many brand new post-doctoral fellows as well as all of the attendees at the campus wide new staff orientation. It was also a month where we delivered Self Care for the Caretaker: Managing Wellbeing and Preventing Burnout – a presentation highlighting the importance of self-care and maintenance of wellbeing for those staff working in front facing positions with students- at the 2015 UBC Advising Conference and had over 160 staff and faculty attend two wellbeing empowering workshops (Salt Sugar Fat and Mindfulness@Work Orientation).
By far our busiest event this month was the 2015 Travelling Health Fair which spanned 6 days in 5 locations both at the Point Grey campus and at the Diamond Health Care Centre site. Titled ‘Bone Up on your Health’ the 6th annual Travelling Health Fair focused on bone health for men and women of all ages and was made possible by a partnership with UBC Human Resources and the Pharmacists Clinic at the UBC Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences.
See you next month!
