Our spotlight this month highlights services that support your emotional wellbeing through UBC’s Extended Health Benefits and UBC’s Employee and Family Assistance Program (EFAP).
Reaching out for help is a sign of strength, not weakness. Whether you need help for yourself or you’re concerned about a peer, friend or family member, reach out as early as possible. Your campus community cares, and help is available for you and your dependants.
Counselling Services Coverage Through UBC Extended Health
If you’re enrolled in the UBC Extended Health benefits plan, you and your dependents can be 100% reimbursed for counselling services from a licensed psychologist, registered social worker or registered clinical counsellor, up to a maximum of $2,500 for each person per benefit year. No doctor’s note or referral required.
Counselling Support Through UBC’s Employee and Family Assistance Program
UBC’s EFAP provider, Shepell, offers counselling services for you and your dependents for a variety of work, health and life challenges, including:
- Confidential, short-term and solution-focused one-on-one counselling
- Counselling services include, but are not limited to, issues related to personal/emotional (stress, anxiety, depression), couple/relationship (communication, separation/divorce), family (parenting, elder care), work (workplace violence, harassment and conflicts), and addiction
- Variety of delivery methods to best suit your needs (in person, by phone, email, secure video chat, and more)
