Retiring from UBC

If you wish to retire, you must give written notice of retirement to your Head of Academic Unit well in advance of your intended retirement date.

Please note that faculty members are expected to retire on June 30th or December 31st unless otherwise agreed.

Please be mindful of the notice period required (DOC) and of what needs to be considered when you leave UBC (DOC).

Don’t forget to review the information about post-retirement such as ongoing privileges, emeritus status and post-retirement appointments.
