Faculty Association members with tenure or grant tenure can request a reduced appointment. Appointments can be reduced to 50 – 99% short term or indefinitely. In order to process a reduced appointment a faculty member must complete a Reduced Appointment Form, which will need to be reviewed and approved by both the Head and Dean. Once completed this form should be submitted to Faculty Relations (UBCV) or Human Resources (UBCO).
Such appointments continue to be eligible for pension and benefits but some contributions may be based on the actual salary paid. Please see the Agreement on Leaves of Absence for more information.
