Re: Bargaining Bulletin #21 – Collective Bargaining Update

The purpose of this memorandum is to provide you with an update on developments in collective bargaining at UBC.

We are very pleased to share with you that the University and CUPE 2950 have reached a tentative agreement. CUPE 2950 represents approximately 1,650 clerical and secretarial staff and library assistants at the Vancouver campus, as well as front of house and back of house staff at the Chan Centre.

The agreement reached falls within the Provincial Government’s Economic Stability Mandate and is for the period April 1, 2014, through March 30, 2019. Both parties will now take the tentative agreement through their respective ratification/approval processes.

We want to congratulate the bargaining teams for their hard work, and commitment to the bargaining process.

We continue to bargain with CUPE 2278, and will advise on progress in the coming weeks.

Thank you for your interest. We will continue to provide updates as the process unfolds. An overview of collective bargaining (including information on the bargaining units) is available at
