At UBC we have internal Coaches, those Coaches who work at UBC, and external Coaches, those who work outside UBC.
The goal of working with a Coach is to be able to discuss your life and your goals with someone who believes in you and listens to you. A Coach is focused on providing unbiased honest feedback, stimulating your creativity and internal resources, and holding the focus of your goal as you work together.
We have a stringent selection criteria for the Coaches who work at UBC. All our Coaches adhere to the ICF code of ethics and have completed or are completing formal training in coaching. In addition to their coaching work at UBC, our Coaches either work in other positions at UBC or have private coaching and consulting practices. All of our Coaches have experience and expertise in diverse fields, which are identified in their biographies. If you are looking for organizational development and learning services such as consulting and training, please contact us at Inquiries at ODL for assistance and more information.
Some Coaches are in the process of completing a certification program in coaching and may ask permission from you to have a coaching session audited by their respective institute trainer or faculty member. These will be identified in their bios.
At this time, coaching is free for UBC staff and faculty. Non-UBC clients may obtain fee information directly from Coaching Services at coaching@hr.ubc.ca.
