About Our Coaches
At UBC we have Internal Coaches, those Coaches who work at UBC, and External Coaches, those who work outside UBC.
How Do Internal & External Coaches Differ?
All UBC Internal and External Coaches offer their coaching services at no cost for up to a maximum of six sessions. Coaches will prepare a client for completion and closure on one topic in six sessions. At the end of six sessions:
- If you are working with an Internal Coach, you may discuss the possibility of continuing coaching for a defined length of time subject to the coach’s availability.
- If you are working with an External Coach and you wish to continue coaching, you would do so with the External Coach’s current fee at your expense. You may apply for professional development funds to help offset the cost of coaching fees.
- All of our Coaches are certified, interviewed and selected by Coaching@UBC.
The goal of working with a Coach is to be able to discuss your life and your goals with someone who believes in you and listens to you. A Coach is focused on providing unbiased honest feedback, stimulating your creativity and internal resources, and holding the focus of your goal as you work together.
Code of Ethics & Credentials
We have a stringent selection criteria for the Coaches who work at UBC. All our Coaches adhere to the ICF code of ethics and have completed or are completing formal training in coaching. In addition to their coaching work at UBC, our Coaches either work in other positions at UBC or have private coaching and consulting practices. All of our Coaches have experience and expertise in diverse fields, which are identified in their Coach Profiles. If you are looking for organizational development and learning services such as consulting and training, please contact us at email@example.com for assistance and more information.
Some Coaches are in the process of completing an Accredited Coach Training Certification Program or obtaining their coaching credential and may ask permission from you to have a coaching session audited by their respective institute trainer or faculty member. These coaches are identified as “Coach Intern” or “Coach Graduate” in their profile.
At this time, coaching is free for UBC staff and faculty. UBC staff and faculty and non-UBC clients seeking information about fee for service coaching services, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org or 604.822.3351.
