The holiday season can be a great time of year, but it can also be a stressful time for some. UBC staff and faculty (and their eligible dependants) can access to the Employee and Family Assistance Program (EFAP) to speak with a counsellor if experiencing difficulties this holiday season.
UBC’s EFAP provider Shepell offers confidential short-term counselling on many issues. You can call Shepell if you need to talk with someone about:
- Relationship problems
- Parenting and caregiver concerns
- Work-related issues
- Stress and anxiety
- Alcohol and drug dependencies
- Financial advisory services
Call the Shepell Care Access Centre at 1-800-387-4765 to chat with a counsellor, or visit their website at https://www.workhealthlife.com. (Note: Please enter “University of British Columbia” as your organization to access the site.)
Please visit the UBC Employee & Family Assistance Program page to learn more about services provided.
