By Breeonne Baxter on June 12, 2019
I am pleased to announce that Marcia Buchholz has been appointed Managing Director, Human Resources, Advisory Partnerships, Central Services and Professional Standards, effective August 12, 2019.
In this role, Marcia will focus on advisory services, employee and labour relations (including collective bargaining), and HR professional standards across the university. She will also lead the transformation in HR partnerships, as we move to meet the future needs of UBC.
Marcia is currently the Associate Vice-President, Human Resources, at the University of Calgary, providing HR support to over 11,000 faculty and staff. Since 2011, she has guided the university’s employee programs, labour and faculty relations, change management and business transformation, and has consistently championed inclusion, respect, and wellbeing in the workplace. Marcia also led the University of Calgary’s transformation to a new HR shared services model in advance of an enterprise-level systems renewal project.
Marcia will be a valuable addition to the HR leadership team. I am excited about the contributions she will make in this vital role.
Please join me in welcoming Marcia to UBC.
