We invite UBC staff who are interested in Leave for Change, an international volunteer program, to attend our August information sessions to learn about Leave for Change, the application process, and to speak with past participants about the rewards and challenges of the program.
Leave for Change noon-time information sessions (Vancouver)
Feel free to bring your lunch to the sessions.
Can’t make it to a session?
If you cannot attend one of our sessions, and would like to speak with a past L4C participant to learn about the program, email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 604-822-0510, and we will connect you with a former UBC Leave for Change volunteer.
Coming to the Staff Welcome Back BBQ at the Vancouver campus on Sept. 10, 2014? Visit the HR Booth to speak with us about Leave for Change!
We will be accepting applications between Aug. 4 and Sept. 26, 2014.
What is Leave for Change?
Every year, UBC sends six staff members abroad on the Leave for Change program, to volunteer in developing countries using your vacation time, sharing your knowledge and skills with others in an international setting. Together with international volunteer agency Uniterra, UBC works to provide successful applicants with a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Volunteer positions are diverse and range from technology training to youth leadership. Placements are offered in Bolivia, Botswana, Burkina Faso, Ghana, Guatemala, Malawi, Nepal, Peru, Senegal, and Vietnam.
Visit our website to learn about eligibility and application process, program deadlines, and important information for applicants, as well as to check out the online diaries of past Leave for Change participants.
