Vacation entitlements for employee groups at UBC are based on University policy and the employee group’s agreement. See also University Policy #56, Vacations – Non-Union and M&P Staff (PDF).
|1st calendar year||1-2/3 days for each full month worked|
|2nd to 5th year||4 weeks or 20 days|
|6th to 8th year||5 weeks or 25 days|
|9th year and beyond||6 weeks or 30 days|
Employees who have been employed as M&P staff and who had at least 10 years of service as of Dec. 31, 1987 are entitled to request supplemental vacation time.
|13 to 17 years of continuous employment||1 week, once during a five-year period|
|18 to 22 years of continuous employment||2 weeks, once during a five-year period|
|23 to 32 years of continuous employment||3 weeks, once during a ten-year period|
|more than 33 years of continuous employment||4 weeks, once during remaining employment|
The maximum vacation carry-over allowed for M&P staff is two weeks.
