Vacation entitlements for employee groups at UBC are based on University policy and the employee group’s collective agreement.
| 1st calendar year | Employees must complete one full year of employment to be eligible for vacation |
| 2nd to 4th year | 3 weeks |
| 5th to 7th year | 4 weeks |
| 8th to 17th year | 5 weeks (in addition to this entitlement, after 14 years of service, 1 day is added for each additional year of service, up to 17 years of service) |
| 18th year and beyond | 6 weeks |
The maximum vacation carry-over allowed for IUOE 882 staff is two weeks.
