Enroling in the RSB Plan

Our best advice: Don’t wait till the last minute to enrol! Application forms for the Retirement and Survivor Benefits Program should be handed in preferably at least four weeks before the effective date of your coverage, so that your retirement benefits will start on time.

The date that your UBC Benefits coverage ends is determined as follows:

Two to three months before you leave UBC:

At least four weeks before leaving:

Complete the RSB application form. Need help?

  • Attach a void cheque to the application form
  • Submit your application form preferably at least four weeks before you expect your RSB coverage to begin:
    • by mail or drop off to UBC Human Resources, #350 – 2075 Wesbrook Mall, Vancouver, V6T 1Z1 (Attention: Amy Kao)
    • by email to Amy Kao (amy.kao@ubc.ca)

First month after you apply for RSB:

You will receive a confirmation of your enrolment in the RSB Program. This confirmation will also remind you when your retirement benefits begin.

Day One of your retirement benefits is determined by the day of the month on which your retirement or termination date falls.

The date that your UBC Benefits coverage ends is determined as follows:

UBC Employment End Date Extended Health & Dental Coverage
On or before the 15th of the month Ends on the last day of that month
After the 15th of the month Ends on the last day of the following month
