Postdoctoral Fellows (Employees)

The benefits listed in the charts below represent only the benefits for which new postdoctoral fellows (employees) may enrol in through the online benefits enrolment process. There are other benefits and entitlements such as leaves and vacation that do not require an enrolment form.

Eligibility Requirements

The benefits postdoctoral fellows (employees) are eligible for and when they come into effect may depend on the length and type of your appointment, whether you meet minimum salary requirements, and your age as of your date of hire.

The normal eligibility requirements for benefits are:

1. an appointment of at least one year in length;
2. a minimum 50% appointment;
3. meeting the minimum salary requirements for that position;
4. hired prior to your Normal Retirement Date (“NRD”) (i.e. the June 30th or Dec. 31st coincident with or following the date you turn age 65).

Enrollment to benefits, where applicable, is included within the online enrolment session. The following list details which enrolment package a new postdoctoral fellow (employee) will be assigned.
