The benefits listed in the charts below represent the benefits for which postdoctoral fellows (award recipients) may enrol in through the online benefits enrolment process. There are other benefits and entitlements such as leaves and vacation that do not require an enrolment form.
The benefits postdoctoral fellows (award recipients) are eligible for and when they come into effect may depend on the length and type of your appointment, whether you meet minimum salary requirements, and your age as of your date of hire.
The normal eligibility requirements for benefits are:
Postdoctoral Fellow Award Recipients who receive funding directly from a source external to UBC - effective September 1, 2011, those who receive their funding directly from a source external to UBC (rather than being paid through UBC) must also provide proof of award and earnings and have a valid Canadian Social Insurance Number. The other criteria above do not change.
Enrollment to benefits, where applicable, is included within the online enrolment session. The following list details which enrolment package a new postdoctoral fellow (award recipient) will be assigned.
