Good dental health can contribute to your overall personal, physical, mental and financial health. As a UBC staff or faculty member, you can keep smiling knowing that your UBC Dental benefits plan has you covered for a wide range of dental services, from regular check-ups to major procedures such as root canals and crowns.
UBC Dental staff and faculty differ slightly depending on which employee group you belong to. To see what dental procedures you are covered for, select your UBC Employee Group below:
When you visit your dentist, you will need to provide your UBC Group Number (25205) and Member ID (7-digit UBC employee number).
Generally, your dentist will submit a claim for your dental procedure directly to Sun Life. However, some dentists may ask that you pay first and then submit a claim yourself. If this is the case, please visit the Claims section of the UBC Benefits website for more information on how to submit a UBC Dental claim.
Sun Life uses the BC Dental Fee Guide to determine how much of your dental expenses are reimbursed according to your UBC Dental benefits plan. Some dentists may charge more than the guide, but your plan will only pay according to the guide.
If you have questions about your UBC Dental benefits or need help filing your claim, contact UBC Benefits.
