Employee Relations leads collective bargaining with assistance and representation from various departments and faculties throughout campus.
Before the expiration of a collective agreement, Employee Relations prepares for collective bargaining by offering the campus community the opportunity to identify key issues that may affect their operation and the University at large — either through direct consultation or by using questionnaires.
Bargaining teams are created and a mandate to bargain is established. The bargaining process can take many months, and concludes when a new collective agreement is reached.
